Andhra schoolboys raped and murdered minor girl, watched porn and tried to reenact the attack: report | Latest news from India

Three detained schoolchildren who allegedly raped and murdered an eight-year-old girl in Andhra Pradesh earlier this month had watched porn videos on their mobile phones before the crime, according to a report by India Today.

According to the report, the defendants attempted to recreate the assault on the minor shown in the videos.

The incident took place on July 7 in Nandyal district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. According to police, the three minor boys raped the girl, strangled her to death and then transported her body on a bicycle for a short distance and then on a motorcycle to the backwaters of the Krishna river with the help of her two male relatives. After that, the accused tied a stone to her body and pushed her into the Mucchumarri Lift irrigation canal in Mucchumarri village, news agency PTI reported.

According to reports, the girl was last seen playing in a park in the village before the incident.

However, the victim’s body has not yet been found.

Six police teams, experienced swimmers, dog teams, drone cameras, technical teams and teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are conducting a search operation for the body, police said. Earlier, on Tuesday, police also reconstructed the crime scene and narrowed down a specific search area to find the victim.

Andhra Pradesh police on Monday arrested the two men – the father and uncle of one of the boys – who helped the minor boys hide and destroy the evidence.

The underage boys were arrested and could later be sent to an observation home, police said.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced financial support from ₹10 lakh to the relatives of the minor girl.
