Suspect pleads not guilty in shooting that killed man in Corcoran

CORCORAN, Calif. (KFSN) – The man accused in a fatal shooting in Corcoran pleaded not guilty Tuesday.

Alex Barrera, 27, was charged last week with the murder of 40-year-old Jason Pico.

On July 2, Pico drove his car through the fence of a daycare center at the corner of Dairy and Hanna Avenue.

When officers attempted to resuscitate Pico, they discovered that he had been shot.

There is no information yet about the motive for the shooting.
