Doctor arrested for raping patient | Allahabad News

Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Tuesday arrested a man named Dr Ashish Kumar (42), a resident of Sonpura, for raping a woman. The arrest was made near Highway Canal Road when the accused was planning to flee. The woman’s father had filed a complaint against the accused doctor under Section 64 (2) E and 351 of the BNS and Section 3 (1) D, 3 (2) V and 3 (2) VA of the SC\ST Act. He told the police that his daughter was admitted to a local hospital for a surgery on July 10. Later after the surgery, the doctor administered an anesthetic injection to her while dressing her on July 12 and raped her. The doctor also threatened the woman of dire consequences, the woman’s father said. tnn
