Andy Reid comments again on the possible suspension of Rashee Rice

It has been a sensational two years for the Chiefs and their fans. They have won two Super Bowls in a row and are now aiming for an unprecedented third consecutive title.

While there was reason to be happy, Kansas City was in the news for all the wrong reasons this offseason. Rashee Rice and Isaiah Buggs both got in trouble with police after the Chiefs released Buggs last month.

The summer break is now over and the team reported for training camp on July 16th. There, head coach Andy Reid gave an update on Rashee Rice.

When Reid spoke to reporters on the first day of camp, he was asked for an update on Rice’s suspension. He replied, “I don’t know. I haven’t heard anything yet.”

Reid added that the organization will let the “responsible” people handle the situation and move on from there.

Rice is awaiting suspension for a car crash that occurred in Texas in March. He faces eight charges related to a pileup in which Rice’s car was traveling at more than 115 mph before the crash.

It is likely that Rice will be suspended for several games, but the exact number of games has not yet been determined.

Regardless of the time frame, Rice’s presence on the field will be missed. As a rookie, he caught 79 balls for 938 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season. He continued his stellar play in the postseason, catching 26 balls for 262 yards and a touchdown.

Now the Chiefs will be forced to play without him for an extended period of time, but that is not necessary as they seek their third consecutive championship title.
