A heat warning is in effect for parts of the state until Wednesday evening.

NEXT: On Wednesday, the heat will have a significant impact away from the ocean. Highs will be 95-100°F in the urban core and South Jersey. The rest of inland New Jersey will be 90-95°F. The heat index will be back in the 100-110°F for hours in the afternoon. On the coast, temperatures will remain in the cooler 80°F.

From 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. a more severe storm front will pass through than today. The main danger is destructive winds and torrential rain. Greater impacts are expected than today.

Heat and humidity will ease a bit Wednesday night. Highs will be back to 27 degrees on Thursday. Dew points will be a “noticeable” but not muggy 18 degrees. It will feel more refreshing than it has recently. Expect a dry day.

Friday will be sunny. Maximum temperatures will be 27 degrees, on the coast it will even be 21 degrees and the humidity will be pleasant.

The weekend looks dry! All outdoor activities should be possible without any problems. Maximum temperatures will be between 30 and 32 degrees in most inland areas, with a little cooler on the beaches and in northwest New Jersey.
