Galveston police arrest Sugar Land plumber accused of assaulting co-worker while on island making repairs following Beryl attack

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) – Galveston police accuse a power lineman who was working to restore power to the island after Hurricane Beryl of attacking a colleague who was found with severe head and facial injuries.

According to Galveston police, officers with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and GPD task force arrested 24-year-old Trevor Tedore in League City on Tuesday, one day after police were called to a man found beaten in the 3100 block of Seawall Boulevard.

According to police, officers sent officers to the sidewalk around 1:15 a.m. on Monday, where the beaten man was lying and had apparently suffered blows to the head and face.

First responders took the man, whose identity was not disclosed, to UTMB Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Police said investigators had developed clues that pointed to Tedore, a resident of Sugar Land, as a suspect, but did not provide details or a motive.

Galveston police confirmed that the suspect and victim were staying at a nearby hotel while on the island working to repair power lines after Hurricane Beryl. Police did not disclose which company the workers were employed by.

Police booked Tedore into Galveston County Jail on $200,000 bail for aggravated assault.
