Colorado Springs police officers under investigation for serious crimes

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KRDO) — A Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) officer is under investigation for felony charges.

KRDO13 investigates determined that CSPD Officer Thomas Polistina is “the subject of a criminal investigation,” according to Colorado’s Peace Officer Standards and Training Unit, commonly known as POST.

The POST database shows that he is being investigated for “unlawful sexual conduct by a peace officer.”

CSPD is aware of the allegations made against Officer Polistina. The case is currently under investigation. Depending on the results, appropriate internal reviews and internal actions will follow once the criminal investigation is complete. Officer Polistina has not been arrested at this time.

Officer Polistina is currently on leave. Officer Polistina was hired by the CSPD in 2020.
