Fargo man arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting boy

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – A man is facing charges in Cass County District Court for allegedly meeting with a teenager and sexually assaulting him on multiple occasions.

Dominic William Lilly, 31, is charged with eight counts of sexual assault and enticement of a minor. The official charges are five counts of gross sexual assault, one count of transferring bodily fluids that may contain HIV, enticement of a minor by computer and assisting in the abduction of a minor.

According to court documents, Fargo police responded to Sanford Hospital on April 13 for a report of sexual abuse. A 13-year-old boy said he had contacted Lilly through the app “Sniffies.”

The boy told investigators that he had been to Lilly’s house 10 to 15 times, where Lilly gave him alcohol and marijuana and the two had sexual contact.

According to court documents, Lilly told the boy in text messages: “I should have made the right decision and not done this to a minor.”

The files also say Lilly told the boy to stop sniffing, “stop lying to older men” and “get help.”

According to court documents, investigators found videos and photos that confirmed the victim’s account. The boy was interviewed at the Red River Children’s Advocacy Center, where he described in detail what allegedly happened between him and Lilly.

Lilly was arrested and made his first court appearance on July 12. He is scheduled to appear in court again on August 21.
