Disabled girl raped in car in Ambernath; 4 minors arrested, 2 detained

Thane: Ambernath police have arrested four youths and detained two persons for allegedly raping an 11-year-old differently-abled girl in an autorickshaw. On July 12, the victim was begging outside a temple in Ambernath along with her grandmother.

She then separated from her grandmother and disappeared. The grandmother could not find her and informed her family members. They later contacted the police and filed a complaint.

According to police, based on video footage, they found the girl near the railway station. When questioned, the girl said that a 13-year-old girl took her in an autorickshaw as a boy was already in the tricycle and allegedly raped her. Police said that four to five people who witnessed the crime were arrested for not informing the police about the incident.
