Three people arrested for possession of meth with intent to resell

During a search of the vehicle, officers said they found several small containers containing a stone-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.

SUMTER COUNTY, SC — Three people were arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell following a traffic stop in Sumter County on Saturday, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Guy Douglas Ownes, Jr., 32, Marlana Elaine Walker, 37, and Melinda Rene Walker, 48, all of Sumter, are charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell.

According to officials, the three were in a vehicle on Bagnal Drive at approximately 10:46 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, when a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office officer noticed the driver, Melinda Walker, driving left of the center line.

After a traffic stop, the deputy asked the driver for permission to search the vehicle. After the driver agreed, the deputy searched the vehicle and discovered several small containers containing a rock-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.
