Police reports: Weapons possession after foot chase in Glencoe; car thefts and break-ins in Highland Park

These reports were taken from the most recent police reports from the departments in our jurisdiction (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

July 13

• A lawn mower and edger were reportedly stolen from the 1200 block of Central Avenue between 1:00 p.m. and 1:24 p.m.

• Charging cables were reportedly stolen from a Walgreens store in the 800 block of Green Bay Road.

July 12

• Merchandise was reportedly stolen from Walgreens, 3232 Lake Ave.

10th of July

• Two people were arrested for stealing alcohol from Jewel, 411 Green Bay Road.

WINNETKA

10th of July

• A garage door opener was reportedly stolen overnight from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of Spruce Street.

10th of July

• A car was reportedly stolen overnight from an unlocked garage in the 1000 block of Oak Street. The car was later recovered in Chicago, police said.

• Two vehicles were reportedly broken into overnight in the 1500 block of Tower Road, but nothing appeared to be missing.

8th of July

• Between July 4 and July 8, more than $5,000 worth of jewelry was reportedly stolen from a home in the 900 block of Sheridan Road.

GLENCOE

July 11

• A 22-year-old from Dixmoor, Illinois, was charged with multiple felonies after reporting a stolen car crash and possession of a firearm. On July 10, Glencoe police attempted to stop two allegedly stolen vehicles near Lapier Street and Sheridan Road around 4 a.m. According to a police report, one of the vehicles successfully fled south on Sheridan Road; however, the other struck a tree in the 0-100 block of Crescent Drive and the motorist fled on foot. Officers allegedly found a loaded gun in the car. The motorist was located and arrested with the assistance of neighboring police units. The man was charged with armed violence, possession of a stolen vehicle, unauthorized use of a weapon, criminal damage to government property and escape.

4th of July

• Cash and credit cards were reportedly stolen from an unlocked car at the Skokie Country Club, 500 Washington Ave.

HIGHLAND PARK

July 14

• Two unlocked cars with keys inside were reportedly stolen in the 70 block of Johnston Drive.

July 11

• Cash and various items were reportedly stolen from four unlocked vehicles parked in a driveway in the 2800 block of Lexington Lane W.

8th of July

• On June 23, cash was reportedly stolen from a purse in a car parked in the 1200 block of Old Skokie Road.

NORTHFIELD
