Pedro Rocha suspended as RFEF president due to serious violations

The Spanish Administrative Sports Court (TAD) has suspended Pedro Rocha from his position as President of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for two years due to a serious violation.

Earlier this year, the TAD launched an investigation against Rocha and the RFEF leadership for “very serious misconduct.”

Rocha took over as interim president after former boss Luis Rubiales resigned in September, weeks after he kissed Jenni Hermoso without her consent following Spain’s victory over England in the Women’s World Cup final in August.

As chairman of the RFEF management committee, Rocha’s only official duty was to conduct the elections to elect a new president.

During his term in office, Rocha made decisions outside his authority, including the dismissal of senior RFEF members, including Secretary General Andreu Camps.

Rocha, who was appointed president of the RFEF on April 26, was fined 33,000 euros ($35,895) for two other violations.

The TAD’s decision came just two days after Spain defeated England 2-1 in the final of the 2024 European Championship in Berlin.

This year, an investigation into judicial corruption was also launched in Spain against Rocha and former RFEF president Rubiales.

In October, FIFA announced that Spain would host the 2030 Men’s World Cup alongside Portugal and Morocco.
