METRO resumes more services as recovery continues after Beryl

HOUSTON (KIAH) – METRO reported Tuesday that more service is being restored following the impacts of Hurricane Beryl.

METRORail service has been fully restored on all lines, including the Red Line. Temporary shuttle service, which replaced rail service after the storm, has ended.


On Tuesday, some metro services will continue to operate with modifications. For example:

  • Park-and-ride : Many routes will operate as normal, including those to the Texas Medical Center. Delays are possible. Adjustments to other routes include:
    • 217 / 222 / 265: Slightly reduced service with some cancelled trips.
    • 202: No service, but the Kuykendahl lot will be served by the 204 Spring in and out.
    • 228: No service, but the Addicks lot will be served by 221 Kingsland in and out.
    • 257: No service, but the Townsen lot will be served by 256 Eastex/Kingwood in and out.

  • Local bus: All lines continue to operate, but expect additional travel time due to detours. Check route-specific service alerts here for the latest updates regarding your trip.
  • METRORail: The red, green and purple lines will operate normally.
  • Lanes reserved for multi-occupancy vehicles (MOV): All METRO-operated tracks are expected to be open during regular operating hours, but some ramps may be closed. These ramp closures include, but are not limited to:
    • I-69 (southwest) to Dunlavy.
    • I-69 (Eastex) to Tidwell.
    • I-69 (Eastex) to Townsen.
  • METROLift and curb2curb: Operation in normal service.
  • Customer Service and RideStores: Operating during their normal hours.
