Woman raped in Lothkunta by driver and two other people

Hyderabad: A 29-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a motorist and his two accomplices after she tried to complain about her husband in Lothkunta in the early hours of Saturday, July 13.

The victim, who lives in Yapral, occasionally worked as a domestic help. She called an auto-rickshaw through the Uber app to go to the police station to complain about her husband over a domestic dispute.

According to the FIR, she took the same car to return home, but the driver took a longer route and picked up two companions who were drinking alcohol. They allegedly forced the woman to drink alcohol and took her to a deserted area.

There, the men threatened her, dragged her into a car and sexually abused her. The woman later managed to escape, reached the main road and dialed 100 to report the incident to the police.

The case was transferred to Alwal police station on July 14. According to reports, the driver has been arrested and is currently being interrogated. Efforts are on to arrest the other accused.
