Julian Franks dies in a two-vehicle rollover accident on Valley Road near Davidson Road

WILLITS, CA (July 16, 2024) — Julian Franks died in a two-car rollover accident on Valley Road near Davidson Road.

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Franks, 30, died in the two-vehicle crash. At around 11 p.m. Sunday, his 1985 Toyota pickup truck veered from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes and struck a 2022 Honda Accord. The impact caused his truck to overturn and he was ejected from the vehicle.

The 16-year-old girl in the Honda survived the accident with unknown injuries. However, Franks succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities learned he was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred, but have not yet determined whether drunken driving, speeding or distracted driving played a role. The California Highway Patrol Garberville Area’s Laytonville Resident Post will continue to investigate this case.
