Dangerous heat continues in New Jersey today, with highs reaching 100 degrees; sudden storms expected this afternoon

NOW NEW: Hot, hazy and muggy. Triple H again… The dangerous heat wave trend continues today when we reach 93 or more, plus 95-110 degrees. It is the hottest day of the heat wave and one of the hottest days of the summer season. Records breaking and/or tying are likely today. 101 degrees is the temperature to reach or surpass, reached in 1988!

Typical summer, isolated, sudden thunderstorms after 1 p.m. and around sunset. Tomorrow will bring a cooler front with strong to heavy thunderstorms, which in turn will help to end the heat wave.

NEXT: On Thursday, temperatures are expected to cool down to 87 degrees. It will be even more “refreshing” on Friday, with 84 degrees.

TONIGHT: Dangerous, sweltering heat! Even hotter, at nearly 98 degrees. Northern counties under heat warnings will see a feel temperature above 105 degrees, compared to central and southern counties under a heat warning for excessive heat, where a feel of 110 degrees is possible during peak heat. With this extreme humidity, this could be the hottest day of the summer season, with an actual air temperature above 102 degrees. High in Newark: 100 degrees. Overnight lows will remain humid and hot, near 80 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: Another very hot day with rain and thunderstorms. Thankfully the rain and strong to severe thunderstorms bring seasonal temperatures! Highs of 95-98 before the heat-killing storms. Nighttime lows of 73.

THURSDAY: What a beautiful and pleasant day! Goodbye heatwave with highs of 30 degrees. Lows of 18 degrees at night.

FRIDAY: I have never been so happy about high temperatures of around 30 degrees. And sunshine to boot. At night, lows of around 20 degrees.
