Suspect charged in Houston shooting | Texas

The 30-year-old victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD).

Detectives S. Elias and T. Youll, HPD Major Assault and Domestic Violence Division, reported that HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call near the above address and learned that the victim and a suspect had been in a verbal altercation that escalated to physical violence. At some point, the victim was shot. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital. A potential suspect was arrested at the scene.

Further investigation identified Muhammad as the suspect in this case. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Muhammad was subsequently charged for his role in the incident. Muhammad was booked into the Harris County Jail.
