Fatal hit-and-run under investigation in Houston | State

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 12600 Westheimer Road around 12:40 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. According to the Houston Police Department (HPD) Vehicular Crimes Division, Sergeant J. Richards and Officer J. Best reported that the male was walking in an unknown direction at the intersection of Westheimer and South Dairy Ashford Road when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The vehicle did not stop to provide assistance and fled the scene.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. At this time, there is no known suspect or vehicle description, according to the HPD.
