Sacramento police investigate fatal shooting on High Street | State

SACRAMENTO, California — According to Sacramento police, a man was shot in the 3900 block of High Street early Sunday morning.

Shortly after 4:00 a.m. on July 14, 2024, patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting and found an adult male with at least one gunshot wound. Officers performed life-saving measures until the Sacramento Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have taken over the investigation, examining the crime scene, canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses. According to Sacramento Police, no arrests have been made and there is no information on suspects at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying next of kin.
