Child and man found dead in apartment fire in Sacramento

On July 15, 2024, two people, including a child, were found dead in an apartment fire on Mack Road in Sacramento.

(FOX40.COM) – Two people were killed in an apartment fire in Sacramento on Monday, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.

At around 3:45 p.m., firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 5400 block of Mack Road in South Sacramento. Upon arrival, crews discovered “high intensity fire” coming from two units on the second floor of the apartment complex.

Authorities initially said that everyone escaped the fire without injury, but further investigation revealed that a young girl and a man were found dead in the fire.

“Our deepest condolences go out to the family on this devastating news,” Sacramento Fire said.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
