Man taken into custody without incident after pointing gun at police officers

Las Vegas police arrested a man Monday night after he allegedly pointed a gun at a police officer, authorities said.

According to Metropolitan Police Department Lieutenant Andrew Kelvington, the man threatened the officer around 5 p.m. near the intersection of West Twain Avenue and South Wynn Road.

Kelvington said the officer was in the area for a reason unrelated to the man who pointed the gun at him. The man fled to a nearby apartment after threatening the officer, Kelvington added.

“Officers surrounded the apartment and the man was arrested without incident,” Kelvington said.
