Pete Dunne turns villain and attacks his former Brawling Brutes stablemate Sheamus on WWE RAW

After Sheamus defeated “Big” Bronson Reed on Monday’s WWE Raw, Reed attempted to attack him after the bell, but Pete Dunne intervened. Sheamus attempted to shake hands with his former stablemate at Brawling Brutes, but Dunne left the ring instead. However, when Sheamus turned his back, Dunne attacked him from behind before shrugging and allowing Reed to hit Sheamus with a Tsunami from the top rope. The decision seemed to mark a turnaround for Dunne and an upcoming feud with Sheamus, possibly involving Reed.

The segment was a continuation of last week, when Dunne faced Reed and Sheamus saved him from a post-match attack. Dunne did not look happy afterward, however, and refused to reunite with his former comrade. The storyline for Dunne appears to be the result of an injury suffered by his New Catch Republic partner Tyler Bate, who was injured during a match on WWE NXT. Bate later posted on Instagram that he underwent successful surgery after tearing a pectoral muscle completely off the bone; there is no timetable for his return.
