NBA Global Academy Claims Victory at NBA Academy Games 2024 in Atlanta

The next generation of hoops continues to impress.

Over the weekend, some of the world’s best high school basketball players gathered in Atlanta for the fifth annual NBA Academy Games, with Australia’s NBA Global Academy team taking the title by defeating NBA Academy Select team 91-84.

It’s NBA Global Academy’s first win in the tournament since 2019 – and third overall – as they go a perfect 6-0 with victories over NBA Academy Africa Blue, Mokan Elite, NBA Academy Select (twice), NBA Academy Africa Red and All Iowa Attack.

In the championship game, New Zealand big man Julius Halaifonua led the NBA Global Academy with a team-best 22 points and five rebounds. Fellow New Zealander Oscar Goodman added 17 points, while Australian Jacob Furphy chipped in with 14 points, putting on a show in front of hundreds of college coaches and NBA staff.
