Authorities say a man was shot outside the Winding Creek Apartments.

Hunter McKee of the OSBI says the motive for the shooting is currently unknown.

Winding Creek residents were shocked when they woke up Monday morning.

They described seeing a heavy police presence and cordon tape.

“All we saw were a few police cars and people standing outside,” says Joseph Maddox.

Joseph’s wife Emily is also shocked by the incident.

She says: “This is really unexpected because we are in such a remote area. Everyone is minding their own business.”

According to officials, the suspected shooter was arrested and taken to the Chickasha Police Department.

OSBI officials say no one else in the complex was injured.

Police are talking to neighbors and other possible witnesses to find out what happened and why.
