Bossier City man found guilty of raping a minor under 13

BOSSIER CITY, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – A Bossier Parish jury has found a Bossier City man guilty of first-degree rape of a child and indecent conduct with a juvenile under the age of thirteen.

A unanimous jury convicted 52-year-old Cristian Borbon of sexually abusing a young boy for several years.

The victim initially reported the abuse to a counselor at the high school and Bossier City police began an investigation.

The victim was questioned at the Gingerbread House, where it was discovered that a second victim had also been abused by Borbon.

Lacie Hadley of the Gingerbread House testified before the jury, as did Detective Kaycee Richards of the BCPD.

Both victims were minors and both took the stand to tell their story.

Assistant District Attorneys Chance Nerren and Chris Warren prosecuted the case, which was defended by John Bokenfohr.

“Everyone involved deserves praise for their work in this case,” said Nerren.

He also said members of the Bossier Parish School Board responded quickly to the situation and protected the victims.

“We are pleased that the jury has given these children some measure of justice, and our thoughts and prayers are with these children as they continue to recover from the atrocities they have suffered,” Nerren said.

Bossier and Webster Parish District Attorney Schuyler Marvin said he was proud of the cooperation of all agencies to bring justice to these children.

Judge Allie Aiello Stahl will sentence Borbon on November 12.

Rape in the first degree carries a mandatory life sentence.
