Milton woman dies after being thrown from her car in accident

A 67-year-old Milton woman was killed in an accident on State Road 87 that caused a vehicle to be thrown through the air, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

A Honda van veered off the road to the right, hit garbage cans and continued towards an embankment. The vehicle was thrown through the air, hit the ground and overturned.

The driver, a 65-year-old woman from Milton, and the rear seat passenger, a 44-year-old man, were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The front seat passenger, a 67-year-old man, was ejected, flown to a local hospital and died from the serious injuries he sustained.

The accident occurred around 12:54 p.m. on State Road 87 north of State Road 89.
