3 dead, 4 injured in head-on collision with RV near Moab

MOAB — Three people were killed and four injured in a crash involving a recreational vehicle and a suburban vehicle near Arches National Park on Sunday, authorities said.

The Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred shortly after noon on State Route 191 near mile marker 151. The driver and two passengers of the Suburban were killed, and two other passengers in the Suburban and two people in the RV were taken to local hospitals for treatment, DPS said.

According to DPS, the Suburban entered the northbound lane where the RV was traveling in the opposite direction. The Suburban struck the RV head-on at a high rate of speed.

“Police are investigating whether impairment contributed to the accident,” DPS said.
