Sheriff searches for man wanted for kidnapping and assault

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a wanted man in the ongoing investigation into a kidnapping and assault that occurred on July 13.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a wanted man as part of an ongoing investigation into a kidnapping and assault that occurred on July 13.

Kevin Devon Miller is wanted in Campbell and Halifax counties on several charges, the sheriff says.

Investigators with the Carrol County Sheriff’s Office told WFXR News that Miller allegedly forced a female victim into his vehicle and drove with her near Long Allen Road around midnight Saturday.


Miller then slowed down so that the woman could jump out of the vehicle. Miller is said to have then gotten out of the vehicle, chased the victim and attacked him. He is said to have then left the woman lying in the ditch and left the scene of the accident.

The woman later went home and called 911. She suffered minor injuries in the attack.

  • Avoid calling 911
  • Aggravated theft of a person
