First Alert Weather: Severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of our region

ROCHESTER, NY – Severe weather warnings are in effect for portions of our area in Monroe, Livingston, Genesee and Wyoming counties.

A line of strong and severe storms is moving through our area. The main threat from these storms is damaging, straight-line winds and frequent lightning strikes. These storms will produce locally heavy rain, along with small hail, but the storms should move quickly enough to keep the risk of flooding relatively low. The storm threat will last in the Finger Lakes region until about 7 p.m., then move east and leave our area, with the rest of the evening and overnight being much quieter.

Keep the First Alert Weather app handy to track storms as they move through your neighborhood and stay up to date with all alerts and updates from the First Alert Weather team.
