1 dead in crash on Interstate 485 in northeast Charlotte – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE – A fatal crash caused traffic jams on Interstate 485 in northeast Charlotte Monday afternoon.

MEDIC confirmed that one person was pronounced dead following an accident at approximately 2:30 p.m. It occurred on I-485, near Interstate 85.

According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the outer loop from I-485 to I-85 was closed due to the accident. The closure is expected to last until 5:50 p.m. Traffic was delayed in that area due to the accident.
