Leesville pastor arrested for grand theft

LEESVILLE, Louisiana (WNTZ) – In July 2024, the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office requested the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office (LSP AFO) to investigate a theft at the First Assembly of God Church in Leesville.

As a result of the investigation and the information received, it was determined that former pastor Dock Jack Osteen III had stolen the funds in question.

LSP AFO obtained an arrest warrant for Osteen for theft under $25,000. On July 12, 2024, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida arrested Osteen on the outstanding warrant. He is currently awaiting extradition to Vernon Parish.

The lead investigative agency is the Louisiana State Police. The investigation is ongoing. No further information is currently available.

The Louisiana State Police online reporting system is available to the public through a convenient, anonymous and secure reporting form that is submitted to appropriate investigators. The form can be accessed by visiting lsp.org and clicking on “Report Suspicious or Criminal Activity.”
