Dog found dead after fire in Orange County house

Firefighters found the body of a dog in an Orange County home that caught fire in the early hours of Monday.

The fire was reported shortly after 1 a.m. in the 5100 block of Brazo in Laguna Woods.


“First arriving crew found a single-story home with smoke coming from it,” the Orange County Fire Department posted on X, formerly Twitter.

A video showed flames blazing around a firefighter who was using a saw to cut open and ventilate the roof.

All residents were safely evacuated from the house, but rescue workers found a dog inside that had not survived, the post said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
