Atmore woman arrested on July 14 for drug and theft charges

According to authorities, an Atmore woman was arrested on July 14 on drug and theft charges.

Findley

Atmore Police Department spokesman Sergeant Darrell McMann said in a press release that 41-year-old Ashley Findley was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft of property IV and trespassing III.

McMann said APD officers were dispatched to Walmart around 5:35 p.m. on the day of the arrest on a report of shoplifting.

McMann added that officers made contact with Findley upon their arrival.

“Findley had not paid for several items and attempted to leave the store,” he said. “Officers also learned that Findley had committed a trespassing incident at Walmart in a previous incident.”
McMann said during the arrest, officers discovered Findley was in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and other narcotics.

Findley was subsequently taken to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
