Man shot in eye in Pittsburgh road rage incident

PITTSBURGH, PA — A man is in critical condition after being shot in the eye during an apparent incident of driving aggression on the Parkway West Sunday night.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, police were called to the area of ​​Exit 69A on Interstate 376 shortly before 7 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire being fired at a vehicle from a passing car.

According to police, a 60-year-old man was found in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the eye. He was taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital where he underwent immediate surgery.

Police are searching for a white Mazda SUV that fled the scene of the crash and continued west toward either Banksville Road or I-376.

Police are interviewing witnesses and attempting to secure all available video of the incident. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating.
