Thousands Still Without Power in Houston Area a Week After Beryl

Many residents in the Houston area are still suffering from the heat and darkness after Hurricane Beryl swept through Texas last week. As of this morning, more than 267,000 CenterPoint Energy customers were without power. The company has restored power to about 1.9 million people since the storm hit, or about 85% of those affected. CenterPoint hopes to reach the 90% mark by today. The company warns that it may take until July 19 for some areas to be restored.
