$2.8 Million in Liens Filed Over Canalside Project Stall

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Several contractors have filed liens related to the stalled Heritage Point project in Canalside, alleging $2.8 million in unpaid bills.

Sinatra & Co. and its investment partners spent more than $12 million of their own money trying to secure a loan, according to CEO Nick Sinatra. He now says he has found a lender but is trying to secure another $4 million loan from the state to close the deal and get the project moving again.

“We have to cover a $10 million deficit to complete the project,” Sinatra said.

Heritage Point is a 61-unit apartment project with additional commercial space. Most of the steelwork has been completed, but work was halted earlier this year due to a cash crunch.
