Tracking heat, humidity and isolated rain/storm probabilities

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The brutal heat wave will continue through at least Tuesday… with afternoon temperatures ranging between 96 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity will also rise to start the week, meaning heat advisories… as heat index readings climb to around 103-105 degrees in the afternoon. A few lucky souls will get a brief shower, but even the rain will only provide temporary relief from the scorching heat.

Today it will be hot and somewhat humid. The afternoon temperature will rise to almost 37 degrees and the heat index to around 40 degrees. There may be occasional rain and storms, but this is rather changeable.

Winds will be out of the west around 5 mph, easing tonight. Lows will remain around 70 degrees under partly cloudy skies and some lingering early morning showers.

It will also be hot and humid on Tuesday. Maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius, and the heat index will be over 37 degrees Celsius.

There will be showers and drizzle, with a mix of sun and clouds during the day. Lows will be around 21 degrees Celsius with partly cloudy skies and persistent rain showers.

The weather pattern will remain active and consistent through the middle to end of the week, meaning each day will bring heat, humidity, and the possibility of isolated rain and storms.

In fact, afternoon highs from Wednesday to Friday will be slightly lower, at just over 35 degrees Celsius with partly cloudy skies. Lows during this period will also be just over 25 degrees Celsius.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible each afternoon due to the heat and humidity. As is typical in summer, some locations will experience heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds during the storm, while others will remain dry, hot and humid.

Since no major changes in the weather are expected in the near future, this forecast will remain the same over the weekend. Maximum temperatures of between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius are expected, there may be humidity, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible and the minimum temperatures will be 21 degrees Celsius.
