CALL THE POLICE. IT’S BEEN A QUARTER OF A CENTURY SINCE THE CRANE COLLAPSED AT THE MILLER PARK CONSTRUCTION SITE, KILLING THREE IRONWORKERS. THIS DEVASTATING VIDEO FROM JULY 14, 1999. Memorial ceremony for Jeffrey Wischer, William DeGrave and Jerome Starr took place on Sunday

The three men who died 25 years ago when the Big Blue crane collapsed during construction at Miller Park were remembered at the stadium on Sunday. Local leaders and their families gathered to honor Jerome Starr, William DeGrave and Jeff Wischer. “We honor their memory and dedication and that of all their colleagues who work every day to build the buildings and monuments that make our community what it is,” said former Brewers President and CEO Wendy Selig-Prieb. A member of Ironworkers Local 8 threw out the ceremonial first pitch and a moment of silence was held at the stadium. The Brewers also donated to the Ironworkers Local 8 scholarship fund in their names.

On Sunday, the baseball stadium remembered the three men who died 25 years ago when the “Big Blue” crane collapsed during construction at Miller Park.
