Person hit and killed by car in Gilford

It’s been a busy weekend for police in New Hampshire, especially here in Guilford. We just confirmed that a local man was killed in a pedestrian accident today. This is in addition to the two people killed in a car accident last night. Guilford Police say this is not a normal weekend in town. Tonight around 5:00 p.m. we received a call telling us there was a car accident involving a pedestrian on Guilford Avenue. Captain. Parents says this was not a typical hit and run accident. The suspected driver had health issues. So we came in contact with the person who had a medical incident, so he was arrested and taken to the hospital for evaluation around the same time yesterday. Captain. Parents says they received a similar call. This time two people were killed. There were two vehicles involved, and both drivers were presumed dead at the scene this morning. State police reported one fatality in a crash in Hampton Falls in Jaffrey yesterday. A 17-year-old boy from Dublin died after being struck while riding an e-scooter on Friday. One person was killed in Conway. Authorities say a semi-truck struck a pickup truck, causing both cars to catch fire. Also that same evening, an eight-year-old girl lost her life in a head-on collision in Loudon. We heard from Chantelle Borden, a single mother who tells us the girl was her daughter Aria, her son Philip was also hospitalized. The captain says he has no good explanation for the increase in fatal crashes across the state. Completely random, unfortunate driving. This is just devastating for these families. We heard from Aria’s mother who says she wants her daughter to be remembered as kind, loving and Philip’s best friend. Now she just hopes for her son’s full recovery and that Guilford is defeated.
