West Seattle Blog… | UPDATE: Shooting investigation at the corner of 35th and Morgan

16:24: Seattle Fire and Police are converging on what the SFD has classified as a “violent crime scene” at the corner of 35th and Morgan. Updates to follow.

16:28: The police have just informed dispatch that they have not found a victim yet, so the SFD operation is suspended. We have a team on the way to find out what the original report was.

16:32: According to another radio message, shots appeared to have been fired during the first operation. A dog team was on the way.

16:37: Police confirmed to us on scene that they are investigating the incident as a result of shots fired, but so far no one has been found injured. They are investigating on the east side of the 35th/Morgan intersection, which is closed, so please avoid that area.

17:17: On our way back from Summer Fest, we just drove through the intersection of 35th and Morgan. The intersection is now fully open, with no police in sight.

18:13: In listening to archived police radio from the time of this report, we have so far found no descriptions of the circumstances or the shooters, but a mention that officers found at least four shell casings and that “suspects” were last seen heading south on 34th Street. The incident number, if you have any information, is 24-194122.
