Off-road vehicle accident on the dried-up bed of Reeves Lake ends fatally – VVNG.com

FAIRVIEW VALLEY, California (VVNG.com) — A fatal off-road vehicle accident on the Reeves Dry Lake Bed claimed the life of an Apple Valley man in the early morning hours of July 14, 2024.

According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, a man was driving an all-terrain vehicle, possibly an ATV, at 4:10 a.m. when it overturned while he was doing donuts.

The vehicle crashed into him. The man’s sister, who was also in the vehicle, was still responsive after the incident.

Rescue crews responded to the lakebed in the unincorporated area of ​​Apple Valley and requested the medical examiner’s office.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as a 33-year-old Angel J. Rivera.

The Victorville CHP station is investigating the accident.
