Police looking for suspect in connection with shooting in Lewiston

Lewiston police said several bullets struck a parked vehicle and a nearby home during the incident Saturday night.

LEWISTON, Maine – Police are searching for the suspect in a shooting in the parking lot of a Lewiston apartment building Saturday night that struck a parked vehicle and a nearby apartment building.

Lewiston police said on social media that officers were called to the parking lot of the Maple Knoll Apartments on Blake Street around 8:20 p.m. because shots had been fired.

Officers found several shell casings and a discarded firearm in the parking lot, police said. Bullets reportedly struck a parked vehicle and a nearby residence during the incident.

Police said there was “no evidence that anyone was hit by the shots.”

Witnesses told police that a man got out of a vehicle on Blake Street and fired shots at an occupied vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment building. Both men then fled the scene.

Police are now trying to identify the suspect and possible victims of the shooting incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Crystal Lachance at 207-513-3001.
