Accident on Highway 6 near Galt injures woman from Milan

On July 12, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a single-vehicle crash occurred three miles west of Galt on Highway 6. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2003 Ford Focus, driven by Brenda J. Johnson, 52, of Milan, Missouri, was traveling eastbound when the vehicle crossed the center of the road.

According to the report, Johnson overcorrected, causing the vehicle to veer off the right side of the road. The right front axle of the Ford Focus struck a fence, causing the vehicle to roll over and come to rest on its roof near the south side of the roadway.

Brenda J. Johnson suffered moderate injuries in the accident. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Johnson was taken by Grundy County ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

The vehicle was a total loss and was towed from the scene by Ewing’s Towing.
