Weather warning day: Strong storms, hot and humid weather will continue in the next few days

Severe thunderstorm warning until 7 p.m.

A severe weather warning is in effect for central and western Ohio until 7 p.m.

Partly sunny skies and very muggy conditions will produce a line of showers and locally strong to severe storms moving across central Ohio late this afternoon and across southern counties early this evening, associated with a wave disturbance aloft.

Any strong storm can bring strong to damaging wind gusts and hail, as well as downpours of rain and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. Be prepared to seek shelter as a storm approaches and keep your Storm Team 4 weather app handy.

It will remain somewhat cloudy overnight. Towards the morning there could be a second, weaker wave of showers and a few rumbles from the northwest. Morning temperatures will be just over 20 degrees.

On Monday and Tuesday, temperatures will reach around 35 degrees on the northern edge of a heat dome. Isolated thunderstorms are possible, but the greatest probability will be on Tuesday evening ahead of a cold front that will end the heat wave.

Showers and thunderstorms will end around midday on Wednesday as the front moves east. Cooler and less humid conditions are expected in the second half of the week, with highs around 27 degrees.
