High-speed chase ends in rollover crash in Batavia

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A high-speed chase ended in a rollover crash in Batavia early Sunday morning, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they stopped a vehicle driven by Dandre Cramer, 25, shortly after 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning for traffic violations on West Main Street. When police approached the vehicle, Cramer allegedly fled the scene.


Cramer allegedly led officers on a chase through the city at speeds of more than 90 mph before the vehicle crashed at the corner of School Street and Swan Street. He allegedly attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody.

Police said a search of the vehicle turned up a defaced Glock Model 19, chambered for 9mm.

Cramer is charged with the following:

  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree: loaded firearm elsewhere than in the person’s home or place of work
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree: prior conviction
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree: defaced for receiving stolen goods
  • criminal possession of a weapon: firearm/knife
  • second degree criminal contempt, two counts
  • second degree obstruction of government administration
  • illegal escape
  • resist arrest
