Class 9 student sexually abuses minor at Scindia School; FIR filed against accused under POCSO Act

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A disturbing incident has come to light in the prestigious Scindia School in Gwalior fort involving sexual harassment of a minor student. The school’s principal lodged a complaint, following which the Bahodapur police registered a case against the accused student under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The incident took place on July 13 when a Class 9 student molested a Class 7 student.

The school administration immediately called the parents of both the students and on Sunday, the school’s principal Ajay Singh lodged a formal complaint with the Bahodapur police station. Due to the high profile the case received, it was immediately brought to the attention of the senior officials, which ensured speedy disposal of the FIR. Charges were filed against the accused student under the POCSO Act.

In response, the school administration has placed both students under strict supervision in separate rooms. The incident has raised serious questions about the school’s administration and safety protocols.

Another similar case

This is not the first time that Scindia School has made headlines for negative reasons. Seven years ago, the school was embroiled in a major controversy. However, the current case is a major blow to the school’s reputation and casts a shadow on its revered name. The school management has so far refrained from commenting on the matter and is keeping quiet as the investigation progresses.
