5 dead, 7 injured in road accident in Bihar

Kishanganj (Bihar): At least five people, including two children, died and seven others were injured on Sunday when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a truck near Petbhari village in Kishanganj district of Bihar, police said.

The accident occurred around 11 a.m. The identities of the dead have yet to be determined.

“Five people, including two children, died at the scene. All seven injured were taken to the nearest government hospital,” a police statement said.

The driver of the Jeep also died in the accident, it was said.

“It is a very tragic incident. I have visited the hospital where the injured were admitted. We are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased,” said SP (Kishanganj) Sagar Kumar PTI.

Further investigations are ongoing.
