AEW star out injured after attack in collision

After several weeks of hiatus, Trent Beretta was confirmed to be on AEW’s injured list.

For the past few months, Trent Beretta has been involved in a feud with his former best friend Orange Cassidy. The rivalry began when Trent attacked Cassidy and lost to the Young Bucks in April.

Beretta also turned on Chuck Taylor, resulting in a parking lot brawl in which Beretta attacked Taylor’s leg. The attack resulted in Taylor disappearing from television as he suffers a career-threatening ankle injury.

Beretta and Cassidy finally met in the ring at Double or Nothing, where OC gained the victory over his former ally. In the weeks that followed, Beretta joined the Don Callis Family, further cementing his role as a heel. However, he has not wrestled since.

Trent Beretta brutally attacked during AEW collision

On the July 13 edition of Collision, Cassidy teamed with Kyle O’Reilly in a loss to Undisputed Kingdom’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. During the match, Beretta attacked Cassidy, throwing him into a barrier and telling him he “can’t have any friends now.” He then attempted to attack O’Reilly, but was stopped by Bennett and Taven, who are trying to recruit O’Reilly into their group.

While Beretta was distracted, an angry Cassidy entered the ring and hit him in the back with a wrench, causing him to fall to the floor chanting “Holy shit.”

According to Fightful Select, Trent has been out of action with an injury since Duble or Nothing. The report also noted that he was in line for a push before being placed on the injured list, but hasn’t been cleared to compete in “quite a while.”

The news of Collison’s injury could be used to take the star off television for the time being.
