Andhra Pradesh: 40-year-old man sexually abuses 6-month-old baby in Vizianagaram | Visakhapatnam News

VIZIANAGARAM: In a shocking incident, a person allegedly sexually assaulted a six-month-old baby in a village under Ramabhadrapuram police station area of ​​Vizianagaram district on Saturday morning. Police arrested the accused from his village on Sunday morning.

The victim’s mother stated that the accused BY Dora (40), a member of her family and resident of a neighboring village, was a frequent visitor to her house. On the morning of July 13, she was at home with her two daughters, a six-month-old and a ten-year-old girl. At around 8:40 a.m., the six-month-old girl fell asleep in the cradle in the house.

At around 9 a.m. on Saturday, she said she and her older daughter were at the nearby mobile grocery store when the defendant came to the house. While she was shopping for groceries, the baby began crying loudly.

When the victim’s sister went to investigate, she saw the accused holding the little girl in his arms and noticed blood stains on the baby. When the girl raised the alarm, the girl’s mother and neighbors reacted immediately and arrived at the scene of the accident.

When they caught the accused, he managed to escape from the crime scene after placing the little girl in the cradle.
The girl’s mother noticed bleeding in the baby’s private parts and blood stains on the cradle. The victim was taken to a government hospital in Badangi for first aid and later to the government hospital in Vizianagaram town.

Based on the complaint of the victim’s mother, the police have registered a case under Section 65 (2) of the BNS (whoever rapes a woman below 12 years of age shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than 20 years) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act, 2012, said Srinivasa Rao, DSP of Bobbili.

Police said the accused, 40-year-old BY Dora, was a laborer and committed the crime under the influence of alcohol. Police seized the accused’s blood-stained cradle and clothes and sent them to a forensic laboratory.

Minister for Women, Child Welfare and Tribal Welfare Gummadi Sandhya Rani expressed shock over the sexual assault of a month-old baby in Vizianagaram district and urged decisive action to stop such barbaric incidents.

She stated that the death penalty for child abuse is the solution to prevent such incidents and urged that no lawyer advocate for the accused.
