Armed man shot dead by police

Easley Police responded after a domestic incident turned physical. When Easley officers responded to an argument between a man (according to officers, Daniel Scott McGoldrick, 35) and a woman at a home on Scott Avenue in Easley, South Carolina, officers received additional information that the woman was pushed to the ground and hit her head on an object. When officers arrived, they found a woman and a juvenile outside of the home. Officers were told a man was also present, however, when police arrived, they went back inside the home. According to police, they received information that the man may have been carrying a weapon. At that point, officers escorted the woman and juvenile away from the home as officers believed the man was actively barricading himself inside the home. Authorities ordered McGoldrick to come out and he did so with his shirt pulled up to show officers that he was armed. When the man showed officers his weapon, at least one officer fired his weapon. The Pickens County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that one person died in the incident. No officers were injured in the shooting, according to Easley’s publicist. No further information has been released.
